Pholiota populnea (Pers.) Kuyper & Tjall.-Beuk. (1986)

Questa specie fu descritta nel 1828 da Christiaan Hendrik Persoon, che la chiamò Agaricus populneus.
Il nome attualmente riconosciuto le è stato dato nel 1986 da Thomas Wilhelmus Kuyper e Dien Tjallingii-Beukers.
